What can I expect to do in this role?

In this challenging role, you will:

• provide leadership by managing and optimizing staff performance, effectively building teams and maximizing employee engagement and empowerment
• provide strategic advice and direction
• review and evaluate business practices, risk, customer services levels and quality standards
• develop and execute a variety of strategies, tactical plans and control mechanisms

How do I qualify?

Management and Leadership Knowledge

• You have proven strategic leadership experience
• You have the ability to manage and direct staff and strengthen employee performance while driving operational excellence in a diverse and complex environment
• You have the knowledge of human resources and labour relations management and practices to effectively lead, train, evaluate and develop staff
• You have the ability to apply principles, directives, collective agreements and guidelines relating to human resources
• You have knowledge of risk and change management strategies, issues analysis and political acuity

Communication, Organizational and Analytical Skills

• You have strong communication, presentation and consultation skills in order to effectively convey business materials, provide advice, make recommendations and manage relationships with internal and external clients
• You have a demonstrated ability to analyze, manage and resolve issues
• You have proven organizational and planning skills
• You have the ability to act as a leader to facilitate change and manage projects and new initiatives

Technical Knowledge

• You have knowledge and experience utilizing recognized service delivery principles, processes, trends, benchmarking and best business practices in customer service
• You have knowledge of policy development and political decision-making
• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation
• You have knowledge of budgeting techniques and controllership practices
• You have demonstrated experience coordinating and providing leadership across multiple business functions including customer service personnel, administration and financial administration
