Are you interested in influencing financial policy and bringing your career to the next level? We are looking for a creative, dedicated, team player to join our team to provide expert quantitative support on critical issues related to the municipal-provincial financial fiscal relationship.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• provide quantitative analysis to support policy advice on a wide range of provincial and municipal finance issues
• suggest and identify the need for new research based on your understanding of the policy environment
• develop policy options for consideration and prepare and present findings and material to senior management
• liaise with partner ministries and central agencies on the delivery and implementation of a range of policy and financial initiatives
• participate as a member of various committees and working teams, which may include coaching and monitoring work of staff

How do I qualify?

Finance and Economic Knowledge:

• You have demonstrated knowledge of municipal finance issues including the Ontario Municipal Partnership Fund (OMPF) and the Ontario property tax system
• You know roles of various ministries and central agencies regarding policies and programs that affect the provincial-municipal fiscal relationship

Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

• You have experience analyzing and interpreting data to support and develop policies and form protocols for identifying emerging trends
• You can resolve matters in a timely and coordinated approach

Computer Skills:

• You are proficient in a wide range of computer data modelling techniques, computer applications such as spreadsheets, databases, web development tools and programming languages
• You have experience retrieving and analyzing data to prepare various reports for senior management

Communication, Presentation and Leadership Skills:

• You can prepare high level briefing documents and present ideas to senior management and colleagues
• You can form strong working relationships with clients and stakeholders and work on various projects and committees
