What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
- conduct complex investigations
- provide guidance/advice on techniques and legal aspects of surveillance
- research, test, evaluate and procure specialized covert technical surveillance equipment
- maintain and repair sophisticated surveillance equipment
- ensure control and continuity of evidence
- initiate, develop and maintain partnerships with other enforcement agencies
How do I qualify?
Technical Skills and Knowledge
- you have knowledge of and experience in investigations and law pertaining to the Criminal Code of Canada, provincial statutes, privacy, searches, judicial process, rules of evidence, and court procedures
- you have superior knowledge of and specialized training in surveillance methodology, equipment and techniques
- you have extensive experience with computer hardware, peripherals, and computer forensics
- you can use Adobe Creative Suite 4 (or later version) image enhancement software
Communication, Research and Analytical Skills
- you have communication and interpersonal skills to build partnerships, exchange information, and make recommendations
- you can prepare documentation including Crown Briefs, and can present technical evidence
- you can conduct research and analysis in support of issues resolution
