Are you bilingual in French and English? Do you have a desire to work collaboratively with community stakeholders and various ministries to promote community capacity building? If so, consider this challenging opportunity.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• provide consultative advice, information and resource support to local and regional communities regarding programs and services
• provide specialized consultation in areas such as coalition building, sector partnerships, training and education

How do I qualify?

Mandatory requirements:

• proficiency in English as well as oral and written proficiency in French at the advanced level
• valid Ontario class G driver's license or equivalent as recognized by the Province of Ontario
• ability to travel throughout an assigned territory

Technical knowledge:

• knowledge and understanding of the theories, principles and practices of community/economic/cultural and social development programs and services offered by the province, other levels of government and not-for-profit organizations
• knowledge of the history, structure, dynamics and key issues of geographic, social, cultural, and economic communities in the assigned area
• knowledge of strategic, business and operational planning and management principles
• knowledge of financial analysis and management, accounting and budgeting, performance measurement and risk assessment/management principles

Analytical skills:

• ability to assess project proposals and financial assistance submissions against financial, economic, strategic and legal considerations and audit standards and determine the viability of existing and potential initiatives
• ability to identify program needs and make recommendations regarding funding, the development of appropriate community strategies as well as operational strategies to enhance operations

Interpersonal skills:

• ability to establish and foster strong relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders to facilitate collaboration on community economic development
• ability to provide consultation and advice to clients on ministry programs and services, legislation, regulations, grant programs and strategies for community economic development and organizational development

Communication skills:

• ability to develop and deliver training programs, workshops and represent the ministry at events
• ability to prepare training resource materials as well as issue papers, briefing materials, tour/event profiles and correspondence for use by senior executives

Project management skills:

• ability to plan and coordinate project teams, networks, forums and working groups
• ability to develop and monitor performance indicators related to contractual agreements and funded projects
