The Financial Services Commission of Ontario (FSCO) is seeking individuals with exceptional analytical skills, and sound knowledge of market conduct/financial analysis principles and methodologies to conduct field examinations, financial assessment and market conduct reviews of financial institutions and licensed intermediaries in order to assess consumer protection and legislative compliance in all sectors regulated by FSCO.

What can I expect to do in this role?

As a Senior Compliance Officer, you will:
• Lead a compliance examination team and/or independently performing desk or on-site market conduct reviews, business inspections or examinations of assigned financial service sector regulated by FSCO, including insurance (life & health, property & casualty), mortgage broking, credit unions and caisses populaires, cooperative corporations, pension plans and loan and trust companies or other entities;
• Provide project management and team leadership on specific desk or on-site market conduct or prudential reviews, business inspections or examinations of assigned financial service sectors regulated by FSCO;
• Provide information/technical advice and guidance to the public, financial institutions and intermediaries related to the interpretation and application of market conduct or prudential compliance requirements of FSCO legislation, regulations, policies and business standards in Ontario

How do I qualify?

Superior communication and customer service knowledge/experience:

• demonstrated superior knowledge of communication principles, methods and standards;
• proven superior listening, customer service, oral communication and consultation skills with experience in effectively responding to inquiries that are of a unique and complex nature;
• demonstrated superior knowledge of writing and editing principles, practices, styles and techniques, and proven excellent skill and experience in preparing detailed analytical reports, briefing notes, complex correspondence and draft procedures/processes;
• demonstrated excellent team membership skills.
