1 position at 149 Ghost Lake Road, Dryden

What can I expect to do in this role?

Work Description:

• Under the supervision of senior staff, maintain cleanliness of aircraft exteriors and interiors condition in accordance with procedures and standard protocols by:
- Performing inspecting on a daily basis and after each flight
- Making decisions on required action to restore cleanliness and to carry out routine daily cleanliness requirements
- Cleaning aircraft surfaces, fabrics, wood components

• Perform general routine duties between base locations including:
- Drive government vehicles to pick up and deliver aircraft parts and support engineers in the field
- Assist with shipping and receiving of aircraft parts
- Clean and maintain shop facilities
- Clean government vehicles
- Assist Air Engineer with mechanical maintenance and safety of aircraft as directed by an Air Engineer

• Training will be provided specific to Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), MNR Safety Management System and mechanical maintenance instruction

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Some positions require students to be 15-24 years of age (or 15-29 years of age if you are a person with a disability) due to program funding.

Some positions may require the successful candidate(s) to undergo a personal security screening check as a condition of employment.

Qualification Requirements:

Communications and Interpersonal Skills
• You have oral communications skills to communicate and ask for direction from staff to perform maintenance and routine aircraft duties (e.g. cleanliness)
• You apply your listening skills to following instructions and protocols to ensure safety standards and requirements are met
• Apply your interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a team environment
• You work independently or as part of a team; you plan, organize and prioritize your time to meet competing deadlines

Organizational Skills
• You follow instructions, and seek clarification regarding assigned duties and following safety protocols and procedures
• You pay attention to detail and follow safety instructions protocols and procedures
• You apply basic safe operating practices to work with machinery and equipment

Technical Skills and Knowledge
• You can apply your mechanical skills and knowledge to following instructions on performing routine aircraft maintenance

Other Requirements
• Some positions require a valid Ontario G2 driver's licence (or higher)
• Ability to work in an outdoor environment with some physical activity involved, including lifting and carrying weighted items in accordance with the Employment Standards Act and Workplace Health and Safety regulations
• Training will be provided specific to Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), MNR Safety Management System and mechanical maintenance instruction
