Showcase your excellent research and policy analysis skills at the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional services where you will work as part of a dynamic team to provide research and policy development services to the Aboriginal Policy and Coordination Unit.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:
• Provide research and policy development services by assessing, evaluating, and disseminating information through reports and presentations
• Conduct on-going environmental scanning to ensure that emerging issues and trends are identified, researched and analyzed, in a timely and efficient manner
• Participate as a team member in policy projects, and in special projects, by developing project plans from a brief outline or concept, preparing recommendations, and reports
• Prepare a range of written communications, including decision documents, complex, non-routine correspondence, presentation materials, and memoranda

How do I qualify?

Analytical and Problem-Solving skills

• You can initiate, plan and conduct complex research and evaluate information gathered
• You have conceptual skills to identify and develop recommendations/policy options

Technical Knowledge

You have:
• Demonstrated knowledge of Aboriginal justice issues and the unique status of First Nations and other Aboriginal peoples
• Knowledge of government decision-making process

Research and Report Writing skills

• You have ability to provide research and policy development services
• You can conduct on-going environmental scan to identify emerging issues and trends

Written Communication skills

• You can prepare complex, non-routine correspondence, presentation materials, memorandum and other written communications

Oral Communication and Presentation skills

• You can deliver presentations, and present research findings and policy options

Organization and Time Management skills

• You can deal with a variety of priorities and ensure completion of projects within appropriate timelines
