Are you interested in influencing how government manages aggregates (pits and quarries) in Ontario? Are you able to conduct detailed analysis and develop evidence-based policy? Then consider this exciting opportunity to play an important role in the Policy Division of the Ministry of Natural Resources.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
-provide project and policy advice and recommendations;
-provide project leadership, evidence-based policy research and analysis;
-lead consultative processes with stakeholders for input to policy and program development; and
- you will also be called upon to support priorities within the petroleum or Crown land portfolios (which reside within the section).

How do I qualify?

Your knowledge and abilities will include:

-knowledge of policy development and approvals processes;
-ability to participate professionally in developing and revising lands and non-renewable resource management policy options, and formulate high quality recommendations in support of policy initiatives;
-knowledge of government decision-making, policy, and program planning and development processes;
-knowledge of relevant policy frameworks for the management of Crown lands and non-renewable resources;
-ability to assess and evaluate information, conduct research studies, and forecast impacts and implications, negotiate persuasively;

Your skills will include:

-strong written and oral communication, consultation, presentation; tact and diplomacy and time management skills;
-strong organizational,analytical and problem-solving skills;
-proven project management and organizational skills to coordinate and/or independently conduct policy development projects.
