The Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Chief Electoral Office division, is seeking a precise, highly organized individual with solid interpersonal and demonstrated project management experience to work in the Project Management Office (PMO) to support managing financial and other project-related functions.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• perform the tracking and reconciliation of project-based budgets to ensure accuracy and alignment with corporate finance reporting tools and processes;
• work collaboratively with project managers to address and resolve project budget issues;
• coordinate all processes, materials and tasks required to support the organization's Project Change Control Board which regulates changes to approved project and programs;
• participate in the reporting of project budgets to support budget and planning processes;
• develop and maintain processes, procedures, tools and materials to support Project Managers in completing all aspects of Elections Ontario's project management framework;
• support staff in the development of project proposals, business cases, charters, plans and budgets to ensure alignment with strategic and business objectives;
• ensure that all project documentation received in the PMO is logged, tracked and filed; and
• provide support for the day-to-day operations of the PMO.

How do I qualify?

Knowledge and Skills

• familiarity and understanding of a formal project management methodology and framework;
• demonstrated experience working in a coordination role with project teams/project managers;
• demonstrated understanding of financial reporting concepts and tools;
• experience with budget data entry and budget reconciliation;
• experience with quarterly and annual corporate business planning cycles;
• advanced skills in office software such as Excel and MS Project;
• familiarity with the operations of a formal project management office;
• strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills;
• ability to be flexible to changing demands while maintaining accuracy in dealing with complex project data;
• excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills; and
• familiarity with the Election Act, Election Finances Act and other legislation, regulations and policies affecting the operations of Elections Ontario.
