The Labour & Transportation I&IT Cluster, needs an innovative and energetic professional to work within the ministry's state-of-the-art, multi-tiered systems environment.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
•develop, manage and coordinate computer application and development projects in Microsoft's .Net architecture utilizing host technologies such as MS Windows NT/2003 OS, MS Terminal Services, MS IIS/Web Services, MS SQL Server, Hyperion Essbase, and Oracle on both Sun Solaris/Windows OS. Object-Oriented Analysis, Design/Development environment includes RUP, UML, MS C#, .Net, ASP.Net, MS VB, Centura, Powerbuilder 8.0, MS Access, Oracle PL/SQL, Crystal Reporting and BizTalk
•provide consultation and second level technical support
•provide systems development expertise on strategic projects
•conduct systems analysis for Request for Proposals (RFPs)
•evaluate and negotiate vendors' proposals and recommend selection
How do I qualify?
Technical Knowledge and Skills
You have:
•knowledge of micro/mini-computer and personal computer system technologies and client customized software, such as N-tier component based application architecture and iterative development (RUP), Object Oriented analysis & design, UML and data modelling tools, design patterns for .NET and re-usable components
•demonstrated skills to develop smart client and thin client applications using C#, ASP.Net
•demonstrated technical skills in the use of other programming languages, PL/SQL, T-SQL or Access programming, report creation, OLAP tools, and Unit Testing
•demonstrated knowledge of large scale systems analysis, design, development, information architecture and emerging technologies to plan and lead the analysis, design, development and implementation of systems solutions
Analytical, Organizational and Coordinating Skills
You have:
•demonstrated skills to design and develop software and coordinate large projects
•analytical skills to perform case development, investigate and resolve complex technical issues, troubleshoot problems, and develop workable solutions
•demonstrated skills to provide project leadership and management in the development of systems or applications
Consulting and Communication Skills
You have:
•demonstrated consulting, oral and written communication skills to provide advice and expertise, prepare and present written reports, interview client managers, determine needs and prepare business cases
•interpersonal skills to negotiate contracts with vendors for acquisition of services
