What can I expect to do in this role?

Within a multi-disciplinary team, your role will include:

• Providing intake services by completing psycho-social and risk assessments
• Formulating rehabilitative treatment, case management and discharge plans
• Implementing rehabilitative treatment and discharge plans
• Developing and operating in-house and Accredited Core Rehabilitative Programs
• Participating in social work research activities and evaluating treatment programs and services.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory:

Registered as a Social Worker in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Bachelors or Masters degree in social work from a social work program accredited by the Canadian Association for Social Work Education.

Specialized knowledge:

Within a systemic change and anti-racism organizational change context that values diversity, these are our key requirements:

• Demonstrated working knowledge of applying social work theories, principles and practices
• Proven knowledge of community support services to assist in formulating discharge plans.

Interpersonal and communication skills:

You also possess:

• Proven abilities with oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to demonstrate tact, discretion and sensitivity when discussing problems and options with offenders in crisis.

General Skills:

Your skills also include:

• Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation and policies
• Proven planning and organizational skills
• Proficient in using computers and related software programs.
