Showcase your ability to provide strategic advertising advice and support in developing advertising for the Ministry of Natural Resources.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

• liaise with ministry clients to identify and analyze their advertising needs
• provide expertise and consulting services in regards to all aspects of the advertising process
• coordinate and monitor advertising projects through development, production, and placement
• advise ministry clients on optimum creative and technical solutions to advertising requirements
• ensure that requirements are met for government advertising and proper approvals are granted
• liaise with ministry clients, staff, Cabinet Office, Auditor General and other stakeholders
• perform desktop graphic design assignments to support various branch projects

How do I qualify?

Technical expertise:

• You have knowledge of general advertising and communications principles and practices, digital communications and web advertising.

Analytical skills and attention to detail:

• You have analytical skills and an ability to effectively research to provide strategic advertising advice and direction to clients.
• You pay close attention to detail and are able to ensure quality and accuracy of promotional items/documents, and to closely follow the requirements of the approvals process.
• You can interpret and apply the Government Advertising Act and the guidelines for ministry graphics and advertising.

Computer skills:

• You are familiar with word processing, presentation applications, and Adobe Acrobat.
• You are experienced using desktop graphic design applications.

Communication and interpersonal Skills:

• You possess interpersonal skills to manage relationships, provide excellent customer service and to negotiate through conflicts.
• You can effectively communicate with various stakeholders.
• You have written communication skills to create documents, prepare recommendations, develop advertising, edit and proofread, as well as correct grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Time management and organizational skills:

• You have effective time management and project coordination skills to undertake concurrent projects and conflicting demands.
• You possess organizational skills to coordinate tasks and prioritize competing work pressures, to meet deadlines.
