As a Business Consultant in the Business Planning and Research Unit, you will support our program areas in the implementation of their strategic and operational plans, in their transformation initiatives, in the development of performance measures, and in undertaking research and evaluation.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role you will:
• lead the annual ministry Strategic Planning process by undertaking environmental scans and researching other justice jurisdictions
• ensure that the ministry Results Based Plan and policy agenda align
• support program areas in their transformational efforts, and in determining value for money by identifying risks, establishing performance measures, and undertaking evaluation
• reporting on ministry performance to the Deputy Attorney General and the centre of government

How do I qualify?

Leadership and Project Management Skills:

• You demonstrate leadership and project management skills to lead, develop and coordinate projects in consultation with other divisions of the ministry, central agencies and line ministries

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills:

• You demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills to conduct effective analysis using relevant data/metrics and to support ministry strategies, operational planning, and program evaluation

Communication and Consultation Skills:

• You demonstrate strong communication skills to write and edit business cases, business plans, briefing notes and to deliver presentations
• You have consultation skills to both learn from and advise others, to negotiate/build consensus around key directions and initiatives and coordinate/chair committees and working groups

Technical Knowledge and Skill:

• You have an excellent understanding of the strategic relationship between fiscal and business policy/planning issues and of the public context within which decisions are made
• You demonstrate superior understanding of value for money, performance measurement, research and evaluation to provide substantive input and expert advice

    As a result of the recently agreed to AMAPCEO collective agreement, a new job evaluation system will be implemented on October 1, 2013. In the new job evaluation system, the classification level of this position is Level 6 with a salary range of $69,680.00 - $99,600.00
