Bring your project management skills and technical expertise to the OPS, where you will lead and manage complex IT projects that support the Economic Ministries Portfolio. You will work with a team of IT professionals to ensure that projects meet the business requirements of our clients (Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Employment, Ministry of Research and Innovation, and Ministry of Consumer Services) and comply with the Clusters' strategic IT architecture.
What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role, you will:
• Manage project teams to support the coordination and integration of project phases and deliverables across the Cluster and Client ministries along with internal and external service providers
• Provide complete project management on a variety of platforms, including web-based and client server arenas
• Develop and implement innovative and creative approaches, opportunities and initiatives for the delivery of efficient, high quality and value added services and products that effectively address clients' business needs and expectations
• Manage issues and risks and provide experienced technical advice and guidance to clients and project staff throughout the project
• Perform as an integrated project manager across various IT and delivery organizations
How do I qualify?
Technical Skills
• You have demonstrated knowledge of systems analysis, design, development, testing and implementation methods, tools and techniques
• You have demonstrated knowledge of business process modelling, including data modelling, information resource management and business analysis, design and process re-engineering
• You have knowledge of strategic application, technical application planning and technical infrastructure planning
• you have knowledge of application, technical architecture design, research and development
• you have knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, Configuration and Service Management to achieve project objectives and knowledge of ITIL Release Management and Change Management
• you have an understanding of current developments in related technologies (such as, Web, storage, data warehousing, security), customer service and user support
Relationship Management and Interpersonal Skills
• You can establish effective working relations among I&IT management, clients, other project stakeholders and project staff
• You have demonstrated customer service skills to provide ongoing consultative advice to determine clients' objectives and related application/technical needs to support client and resolve issues
• You have strong negotiation and persuasive skills to establish effective working relationships with stakeholders, and identify underlying interests and needs
• You can develop and manage customer and service agreements with vendors and clients
Project Management Skills
• You have strong project management skills to direct all areas of projects including planning, estimating, budgeting, scheduling, measuring, monitoring and controlling solutions design, delivery and implementation
• You have demonstrated experience managing large, complex, multi cluster projects
• You have strong leadership and role modelling skills to encourage best practices and the achievement of business goals among staff team members and colleagues
• You have strategic application and/or technical application planning and technical infrastructure planning in order to achieve a variety of project objectives
• You have the ability to understand tendering and contracting policies, procedures and standards
Problem Solving, Analytical Skills
• You have demonstrated ability to identify technical, business or other application and/or technical issues and risks and determine the most appropriate course of action to resolve them
• You have the ability to analyze and identify the most appropriate technical business solutions to meet client needs and requirements
Other Relevant Skills
• You have strong oral and written communication skills to make presentations and communicate technical information to non-technical parties
• You have knowledge of human resources policies and collective agreements to manage staff and handle labour relations issues
