What can I expect to do in this role?
In this role you will:
• manage and deliver strategic and operational planning for I&IT common infrastructure and telecommunications products and services, supporting mission and business critical applications across the Ontario Public Service
• be responsible for portions of the service planning process, including accountability for portfolio management, annual and in-year planning processes and communications
• act as a change agent for the adoption of the Service Planning Process (SPP) in other branches so that alignment is achieved with other major stakeholders
How do I qualify?
Technical Skills
• you have knowledge of technology management, network operations, IT Service Management, and ITIL processes
• you have knowledge of high-speed local and wide area networks, e-mail, broadband data communications and internetworking, storage technologies and storage management, Intranet/Internet technologies and N-Tier architectures (e.g. J2EE and .Net), to identify potential technology alignment areas within service portfolio
Business Process Skills
• you have knowledge of industry trends, products and standards to interpret vendor input into the planning process
• you have knowledge of application of business cases from an infrastructure perspective to provide a technology evaluation and benefits based on an investment
Project Management and Strategic Thinking Skills
• you have project management and strategic thinking skills to deliver Service Planning Process, align with ITS strategic goals and plan, organize, and coordinate human, financial and material resources to achieve technology planning objectives
Team Management Skills
• you have team management skills to develop and foster strong teams and mentor junior team members
Communication and Partnership Building Skills
• you have communication and partnership building skills to communicate the purpose and benefit of collateral in the Service Planning Process, meet the requirements of stakeholders and work with delivery partners
