If yes, then here is an opportunity to contribute as a specialist in carrying out Occupational Health & Safety legislative and regulatory obligations for the newly formed Prevention Office of the Ministry of Labour.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
• provide independent analysis, interpretation, and advice of health and safety prevention program and policy related issues
• conduct analysis and develop program related policies
• participate in corporate projects by developing project plans, scheduling, setting priorities, deliverables, accountability and milestones
• perform research and technical examination to evaluate and assess the quality of program delivery
• promote and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders through consultation and consensus building
• draft policies and procedures for program development, revision, implementation and delivery

How do I qualify?

Policy and Program Development:

• you have experience with policy and program development
• you are familiar with health and safety prevention issues, programs and legislation (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Safety and Insurance Act)

Communication and Relationship Management Skills:

• you have strong communication skills to develop reports, briefing notes, discussion papers and recommendations
• you have prepared and presented seminars or training presentations
• you have promoted, managed and maintained effective relationships and partnerships

Research and Analytical Skills:

• you have analytical and strategic thinking skills to recommend the implementation of new systems, procedures and changes to programs and policies
• you have knowledge of research techniques and methodology to conduct research and technical examination for the evaluation and assessment of the quality of program delivery

Project Management:

• you have project management skills to plan, prioritize, schedule, and co-ordinate projects
