Are you a marketing professional with a passion for creativity and being innovative? If so, consider this exciting opportunity with the Communications and Brand Marketing Branch, where you will work within a small dynamic team to provide strategic marketing advice in order to promote the ServiceOntario brand and services.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

•Provide strategic content expertise across different communication channels to assist with program decision-making and ensuring consistency of content
•Research and collect information, data and marketing analytics for use in the development of marketing collateral
•Provide input into program discussions/decisions and manage expectations by consulting with senior management and staff in the Minister's and Deputy Minister's offices
•Coordinate with other units of the Branch, ServiceOntario and other ministries to ensure consistent scheduling, messaging and timing
•Consult, guide and coordinate with other branches and ministries to deliver coordinated materials and deliver materials according to customer need
•Lead projects/initiatives and represent the team on special task forces and working committees

How do I qualify?

Technical Skills

• You have demonstrated knowledge of contemporary marketing principles and practices, branding and behaviour change in order to develop effective strategies and marketing collateral
• You have knowledge of various communications channels (e.g. online/digital, social media, retail, advertising), trends and language styles in order to develop marketing material
• You have a proven understanding of policy development and political decision-making processes/protocols to ensure timely integration of strategic marketing/communications support
• You have the ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, policies, directives and guidelines to ensure that marketing materials reflect corporate direction and retail needs

Organizational, Planning and Project Management Skills

• You have demonstrated experience managing projects/initiatives independently with minimal direction
• You have the ability to coordinate and manage external contractors, suppliers and consultants to ensure a timely and successful completion of contracts
• You have planning skills to ensure timely development, production and implementation of internal and external marketing collateral and innovative creative solutions
• You have organizational skills to coordinate deliverables, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines

Communication and Relationship Management Skills

• You have presentation skills to accurately convey information in order to influence decision making and present solutions, recommendations and alternatives to senior levels of government
• You have Interpersonal skills to work collaboratively and interact effectively with colleagues, program specialists, senior levels of government, and other stakeholders
• You have the ability to develop and maintain a network of contacts to develop marketing collateral
• You have experience developing briefing materials and crafting strategic plans
• You have negotiation skills to discuss contracts, requirements, deliverables, and elicit cooperation and participation

Research and Analytical Skills

• You have demonstrated experience evaluating the effectiveness of marketing plans/projects and ensuring they are designed and implemented to the desired effect
• You have experience researching data and marketing analytics and formulating options and solutions
• You have the ability to define specific marketing deliverables that may have implications across divisions and ministries
• You have the ability to gather relevant information from various stakeholders and marketing channels in order to support the development of marketing strategies and initiatives

Computer and Financial Skills

• You have experience developing and managing budgets in order to meet commitments contained in marketing plans
• You are proficient with word processing, graphics, web technologies, and desktop publishing software (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
