Do you have experience developing and implementing strategic communications strategies? Do you want the opportunity to manage and deliver communications initiatives within a dynamic environment?
If yes, then consider this opportunity where you will provide expertise, leadership and advice in the management and development of strategic communications initiatives and recommend innovative methods to meet service delivery objectives.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

•Lead the development and delivery of communications plans, products and services for the division
•Provide communications support for major divisional initiatives that contribute to the division's service delivery and change management objectives
•Provide strategic change communications advice to division and ministry senior management

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge and Skills

•you have knowledge of communication theory and techniques, communication planning methods and practices, marketing and advertising
•you have knowledge of web-based communications tools and techniques to oversee the design and development of the divisional intranet
•you can develop web-based formats and standards to ensure the effectiveness of messaging and presentation
• you have strong visual presentation skills and can create engaging presentations
•you have knowledge of administrative and financial budgeting processes to provide effective management and control of projects and service providers
• you have knowledge of division, ministry and OPS mandates, policies and initiatives and can apply that knowledge in support of division service delivery and change management objectives

Communication Skills

•you can develop communication strategies and design and implement communication tactics
•you can use your oral and written communication skills to effectively convey information in a clear and concise manner to appropriate target audiences
•you can use your writing and editing skills to write a variety of materials, edit copy for style, language usage, flow and logical presentation of information
•you can use your graphic communications skills to create visually attractive and effective presentations and other communications products

Consultation, Interpersonal and Influencing Skills

•you can provide advice and consultation to clients and clarify communication objectives
•you have the ability to develop communication strategies that address internal and external stakeholders' issues and interests
•you can use your interpersonal skills to foster relationships with internal and external stakeholders, to increase support for the ministry's and division's mandates

Research, Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

•you can use your research and analytical skills to monitor and analyze issues, trends and opinions
•you can identify contentious issues and assess their impact on ministry initiatives to provide advice and develop communications strategies

Project Management and Leadership Skills

•you have the ability to lead and coordinate working groups and provide direction to external service providers

Computer Skills

•you are proficient in using MS Office suite, databases and internet for research and to produce reports, correspondence and other materials
