The Industry Development Group of the Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC) provides opportunities for Ontario's cultural media industries (including book publishing, film and television, interactive digital media, magazine publishing and music industries) to create new products, access new markets and improve their market readiness.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:

• Participate in creation, promotion and delivery of business development programs;
• Establish, maintain and support positive and cooperative working relationships with local, provincial and national stakeholders to promote programs, interpret and explain legislation, guidelines, requirements, funds and contracts;
• Plan, coordinate and participate at industry events;
• Conduct research and analysis, and prepare program documentations;
• Analyze and process program applications, and provide advice and guidance;
• Manage contracts, and maintain files and project tracking.

How do I qualify?

Knowledge

• You have knowledge of the cultural media industries to participate in business development program planning and delivery, and liaise with stakeholders
• You can interpret and apply programs directives and guidelines in order to review and process documentations, and provide advice and guidance to clients

Computer Skills

• You are proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, the Internet and databases (e.g., MS Access), and you can manage records and databases

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• You can foster effective partnerships with clients and stakeholders
• You can explain and clarify program requirements, respond to inquiries and requests for information, and prepare documentations

Organizational and Coordination Skills

• You can handle multiple demands and priorities in a high volume environment with deadlines
• You can plan events, monitor and track information and contracts

Analytical, Problem Solving and Research Skills

• You can work independently and exercise discretion, initiative and sound judgment to identify, research, analyze and resolve complex issues
