Consider this exciting opportunity in the Strategy, Stewardship and Program Policy Division where you will operate as the strategic risk and performance leader managing the delivery of the Tax and Benefits Administration's (TBA) risk management and performance management function in support of the TBA strategic plan and its critical multi-year business strategies.
What can I expect to do in this role?
You will:
• Lead the TBA risk management function to support the overarching strategic plan and its multi-year business strategies as well as critical operational areas
• Develop and propose new performance measures in support of assessing the progress of critical business strategies
• Develop and propose new service standards and related policies, procedures and systems to maximize TBA program delivery and operational efficiency
• Understand financial transactions and journals related to major transfer payment lines
• Lead, develop and manage partnerships and linkages between executives, management and staff across the TBA in order to influence critical strategic risk and performance decisions and drive change management
• Lead and manage staff including hiring staff, provide direction and training and evaluating performance as well as handling labour relation issues
• Manage unit operational and project budgets
• Determine and implement business service objectives, priorities and plans
• Continuously improve workplace culture and employee engagement and facilitate the building of staff expertise, team cohesiveness, and open communication
How do I qualify?
Leadership and Management Skills:
• You are able to manage, coach, counsel, train and evaluate staff and to lead programs and initiatives
• You have knowledge of the principles and best practices related to labour relations and human resources to identify and resolve employee issues
• You have excellent project leadership and management skills to plan, lead and manage unit project initiatives
Relationship Management and Communication Skills:
• You have well-developed relationship management skills to maintain effective working relationships with executives/management staff and other ministries
• You have strong written/oral communication skills and presentation skills
• You have experience providing strategic advice to executives
• You have strong negotiation skills to manage contract relationships
Technical Knowledge:
• You have demonstrated knowledge of strategy, risk management, performance management and management reporting theories, principles and best practices
• You have knowledge of change management principles, methods and processes
• You demonstrate structured and critical thinking, research and analytical skills to identify/analyze complex issues
