The Ministry of Community and Social Services is looking for a business savvy yet passionate leader interested in overseeing a highly visible and complex service delivery operation, the Family Responsibility Office.

The Assistant Deputy Minister of the Family Responsibility Office (FRO) provides executive leadership, strategic direction and overall management to the programs and services and is responsible for collecting, distributing and enforcing court-ordered child and spousal support to clients in Ontario and reciprocating Canadian and international jurisdictions.

In a time of significant change, you will be instrumental in providing executive leadership to build capacity, technical expertise and credibility to the organization in order to ensure public confidence while ensuring successful delivery of the established mandate and the mission of the Family Responsibility Office.

The ideal candidate is experienced in being the ‘face' of a major customer service organization and will transform customer service through utilizing technology and online service delivery.

What can I expect to do in this role?

Reporting to the Deputy Minister of Community and Social Services, the Assistant Deputy Minister will be responsible for:

• Maintaining a strategic focus on the development and delivery of Family Responsibility Office programs and services.
• Continuing to focus on integrating and transforming government services while increasing organizational efficiency.
• Developing policy and program recommendations that enhance service accountability, strengthen operational delivery and support effective implementation and outcomes.
• Engaging with internal and external partners and stakeholders to modernize service delivery and continuing to promote the provision of supports that are high-quality and cost-effective.
• Providing strong executive leadership in considering risk management and return-on-investment strategies when implementing business modernization solutions that balance financial, political, and client impacts and risks.
• Conceptualizing and managing cultural, organizational and procedural change within FRO to improve communication with, and the service experience for, its clients.

How do I qualify?

Senior Executive Leadership:

• You are an inspiring and inclusive senior executive with a background in operational excellence, business transformation, developing strategic direction and championing best models and practices.
• You have experience as an executive in leading large, multi-functional teams of senior managers and professional staff to deliver results in a complex organizational environment.

Strategic and Operational Leadership:

• You have experience leading large scale service delivery business operations, with attention to customer needs, issues management, program integrity and cost efficiency.
• You are experienced in driving and managing change to modernize business operations.
• You have proven track record of articulating and promoting a strategic vision for multiple lines of business.
• You have had success growing businesses where strategic planning, growth and cost management are an integral part of the role.

Customer Service and Relationship Management:

• You are a champion of customer service excellence and have created best-in-class customer service cultures.
• You have demonstrated capability to build strong internal partnerships and external networks to deliver new service offerings and drive business growth.
• You are a sophisticated communicator with superior public relations skills to support internal teams, represent government and broker business opportunities.
• You have proven political acuity and ability to manage complex issues within an organization with high public profile and scrutiny.
