As a Senior Facilities Specialist, you'll design and manage infrastructure that supports emergency health services across the province—work that truly makes a difference.
About the job
In this role, you will:
• Lead the planning, development, and maintenance of IT facilities and solutions.
• Advise ministry partners on how to use IT facilities to achieve business goals.
• Develop tools, standards, and policies that improve operations.
• Guide and train staff, and coordinate work with internal teams and external vendors.
• Oversee projects and ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety, and fire regulations.
• Research and recommend products and services that meet stakeholder needs.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
• Ability to travel within the region and across Ontario as needed.
Technical Knowledge
• Knowledge of environmental control systems for computer and telecom installations (air conditioning, electrical, security, fire prevention).
• Understanding of Intel-based systems, networking technologies, and environmental requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, mechanical, and electrical blueprints.
• Experience using computer-assisted design tools for facility drawings.
IT Facilities Knowledge
• Familiarity with facilities design standards, legislated requirements, and IT infrastructure theory.
• Experience ensuring compliance with building codes and safety guidelines.
Communication and Leadership Skills
• Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to train and guide staff and present technical recommendations clearly.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate complex issues.
Project Management and Procurement
• Knowledge of project management tools and processes.
• Experience sourcing vendors, negotiating contracts, and managing service providers.
