Keep the Mail Moving!Bring your communication and organizational skills to the Ministry of Public and Business Service Delivery and Procurement, Enterprise Business Services, where you will provide mail delivery services to various ministries located in the Greater Toronto Area.
About the job
You will:
• sort, distribute, deliver and pick up mail, packages and boxes;
• prepare parcels for shipping;
• operate a computerized shipping system;
• operate and maintain postage equipment;
• produce reports;
• X-ray, scan and verify mail received from Canada Post and other sources.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
Valid Class G Driver's Licence.
Technical Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of Canada Post Regulations (e.g. mail processes, rates, products etc.) in order to determine the most economical way to mail items.
• You have knowledge of computerized shipping system (i.e. Purolator courier, DHL, etc.).
Mailroom Experience:
• You can operate mailroom equipment such as postage meters, folders and inserters, and X-ray Scanning equipment, or similar devices, to verify contents of mail, boxes and packages, and identify suspicious items.
• You can deliver and/or pick up mail, packages and boxes to/from specified locations.
Organizational & Communication Skills:
• You have good organization skills to prioritize work schedule in relation to the delivery of mail to ministries using a delivery van, carts, dollies, etc.
• You can communicate to customers in order to provide good customer service and communicate with supervisor on a daily basis.
