Consider joining the Analytics and Measurement Branch where you will help lead evidence-informed policy and program decision-making in the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services by partnering with policy and program areas to analyse proposed changes and measure program and system-level results.
Our MissionThe Population Analytics and Insights Unit provides quantitative analysis and reporting for SA, leads identity-based and equity-focused analysis and conducts cross-program population analysis to provide insights regarding groups served across the ministry. The team manages on-going updates of program statistics, conducts research and analytics, responds to data requests, supports issues and communications, and prepares public reports.

In this role, you will play a key part in shaping evidence-based social policy and service system planning. Your expertise in data analysis, research and performance measurement will support a more responsive and outcomes-focused social services system.
In this role, you will:
• Lead advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis to inform social policy and service planning.
• Develop high-quality data, information, and outcome indicators to meet Ministry needs.
• Provide cross-Ministry expertise to support policy and planning initiatives.
• Promote a data-driven culture within the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services.
What you bring to the team
Data Analysis and Research Skills:
You have:
• Data analysis and visualization skills to interpret complex information from diverse sources.
• Experience with statistical modeling, forecasting, simulation, economic analysis, funding models, survey design, and impact evaluation.
• Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and program evaluation.
• Proficiency in working with large datasets and analytical tools (SQL, R, Python) to generate insights and performance measures.
You can:
• Research and assess emerging trends, methodologies, and relevant data.
• Acquire, assess, and analyze data to support policy, funding, and planning decisions.
Project Management and Leadership Experience:
You can:
• Plan, lead, and execute multiple medium-to-large projects effectively.
• Independently manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Engage stakeholders, influence decision-making, and drive data improvement initiatives.
• Apply your relationship management, persuasion and advisory skills to advise internal and external partners and stakeholders, and champion improvements to the Ministry's capacity to collect, manage, and access data to drive insights.
Social, Economic, Demographic, and Service Utilization Analysis:
You have:
• Knowledge of the theories, concepts, and methods of economics, research, statistics, human resources, service utilization, population, surveys and outcome measurement needed to analyse human services data and develop actionable insights.
• An understanding of current issues and trends within the Ministry's mandate and broader human services system to inform planning and anticipate client needs.
Communication and Presentation Skills:
You can:
• Clearly communicate complex data and insights through written reports, briefing notes, and presentations.
• Deliver effective presentations to stakeholders and senior leadership on data analysis and insights.
• Prepare and present project plans, technical and status reports, and planning documents.
• Explain complex data issues and analyses to non-technical audiences in an accessible way.
