About the job
In this role, you will:
• Lead and contribute to policy research, analysis, and development related to hospital capacity, patient flow, access pressures, and system wide issues.
• Support issues management by synthesizing data, evidence, and stakeholder input to inform briefings, options analyses, and recommendations.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including Ontario Health, hospitals, and other health system partners, to support coordinated responses to capacity and access challenges.
• Prepare clear, concise briefing materials, correspondence, and presentations to support decision making in a fast paced environment.
What you bring to the team
Policy Development and Performance Management
You have:
• Strong strategic thinking and experience leading policy development, including strategies, legislation, and resource allocation frameworks.
• Knowledge of performance management approaches to guide the development, evaluation, and communication of policies, programs, regulations, and legislation.
• Strong knowledge of community health system operations and care delivery, funding, and governance to produce evidence-based policy and provide sound advice to senior leaders.
Project Management and Relationship Building
You have:
• Expertise in leading multiple policy projects, managing timelines, and balancing competing priorities.
• Ability to negotiate, mediate, and resolve issues to advance policy development and support ministry-wide deliverables.
• Proven ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders and act as a trusted advisor.
Conceptual Thinking, Research and Analytical Skills
You have:
• Strong research abilities with the capacity to identify core issues in complex situations and develop innovative concepts and solutions.
• Broad understanding of Ontario's health system issues within provincial, national, and international contexts.
• Ability to interpret government priorities, directions, and legislative processes to ensure policies align with the government's health care agenda.
Communication and Presentation Skills
You have:
• Ability to prepare and present complex research, evidence based analyses, policy reports, briefing materials, and submissions.
• Expertise in promoting policy initiatives through presentations to health sector partners, community stakeholders, and ministry leadership.
• Ability to produce clear, coherent documents that synthesize diverse ideas and issues.
