About the job

As a Records Supervisor, you'll play an important role in providing leadership and supervision to the records department. You will:
• Ensure accurate interpretation and application of policies and procedures
• Mitigate legal liability and risk
• Ensure compliance with legislation and directives
• Coordinate training and orientation of staff
• Review and recommend changes to existing procedures and legislation

What you bring to the team


Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

• You comprehend sentencing laws, legal documents, and how they impact records and operations.
• You can interpret and apply policies and regulations to ensure legal compliance
• You comprehend privacy laws and how to protect and handle delicate information
• You have math skills to guide staff in calculating and reconciling complex sentence, fines, and bail calculations

Leadership Skills

• You can manage and supervise staff, including assigning and managing workloads
• You can train, coach and provide performance feedback to staff for development
• You can manage staff and maintain service standards during high-demand periods
• You promote a respectful, inclusive, and productive work environment

Reasoning, and Problem-Solving Skills:

• You can identify and resolve mistakes in records quickly and accurately
• You can assess risk and make sound judgments in high-pressure or urgent situations
• You can review data to suggest improvements to how things are done
• You can solve problems with systems or processes that could impact legal compliance

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• You can speak and write clearly and professionally
• You can handle complaints and sensitive issues with tact and professionalism
• You can build and foster respectful relationships with staff, inmates and external partners.

Computer Skills:

• You are proficient with various computer software applications (i.e. MS Office)
• You are proficient with computerized records management systems.
