The Immigration Policy and Strategic Initiatives Branch is seeking a Program Analyst to provide program policy development, analysis, evaluation, program monitoring and stakeholder engagement in support of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• support the development of legislation, regulations, policies and procedures as they relate to the administration of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and the Ontario Immigration Act, 2015
• prepare presentations, briefing materials, correspondence, analyses, policy papers, and Cabinet submissions
• apply project management skills to manage projects and ensure timely delivery of project outputs
• create guidelines, directives, and communications materials for stakeholders
• apply oral and written communication skills to participate in and coordinate stakeholder consultations and engagements with ministry partners and other jurisdictions

Technical knowledge:

You have:
• knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, ministry priorities, and government decision making processes
• ability to acquire knowledge of immigration issues, history, policy development, and multi- jurisdictional relationships
• skill in interpreting and applying policy and legislation to provide advice and expertise to internal and external stakeholders

Research, analysis and problem-solving skills:

You can:
• apply analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, research, and assess issues such as emerging trends, policies in other jurisdictions, stakeholder concerns, and data
• identify policy gaps, evaluate options and impacts, and develop recommendations for senior management

Communication and interpersonal skills:

You have the ability to:
• prepare clear, concise and effective reports, presentations, policy papers, correspondence, briefing notes, and Cabinet materials
• build relationships with ministries, agencies, and other governments
• lead and/or participate in consultations
• provide advice on program and policy matters, and identify and respond to issues

Project management and technical skills:

You have:
• ability to manage projects and ensure deliverables meet government, ministry, and agency standards (e.g., developing project charters, managing contracts) and established timelines
• proficiency with software tools (e.g., spreadsheets, word processing, presentations) to gather/analyze data and prepare reports and materials
