About the job
In this role, you will:
• Lead, coordinate and participate in projects to conceptualize, develop and recommend strategies and policy options
• Participate in strategic planning, analyze emerging issues, provide sound policy advice and make recommendations
• Oversee all aspects of project planning and management, including establishing timelines and deliverables, managing consultant procurement and reviewing work
• Develop consultation processes and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders for consultation, advice and collaboration.
What you bring to the team
Research, Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills
You can:
• conduct quantitative and qualitative research, including scans, trend analysis, and option/impact assessments.
• assess new or revised policies and evaluate proposals for their implications on infrastructure planning.
• analyze proposals and balance stakeholder interests to develop practical policy options and address issues.
Communication Skills
You can:
• consult with partners to build support for infrastructure policy and resolve issues.
• build consensus and maintain effective relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• work collaboratively in team settings to deliver shared project outcomes.
• facilitate discussions and present policy and program recommendations clearly.
• prepare clear, well-structured written materials, including reports, briefings, and correspondence.
Technical Knowledge
You have:
• experience with policy development and analysis
• an understanding of ministry priorities to support effective policy and outreach strategies.
• an understanding of key theories and practices related to capital planning, asset management, procurement, and delivery of large public infrastructure, as well as relevant economic principles.
Project Management Skills
• You have project management skills to lead and participate in projects and conceptualize strategic policy options
