The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the Regional Commander of West Region is seeking a qualified individual to join our team. Salary Note: Effective January 1, 2026 the salary range for this position is $35.05 to $39.99 per hour.

Wellington County was formed as the District of Wellington in 1837 by an Act of the Legislative Assembly of Upper Canada. The County hosts three OPP Operations Centres under the Wellington County OPP umbrella: The North Wellington Operations Centre in Teviotdale, the Centre Wellington Operations Centre in Fergus and the South Wellington Operations Centre in Rockwood.

About the job
You will provide operational support to the detachment by taking municipal services calls, 911 calls and OPP/detachment inquiries and dispatching the appropriate service response. You will also provide reception and administrative support to Detachment personnel in the co-ordination and processing of administrative services.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory Requirements
• Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation;
• 40 w.p.m typing speed;
• Ability to work 12 hour shifts in a 24-hour rotating shift environment.
Administrative and Computer Skills
• Knowledge of computer operation and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and RMSCPIC, to produce court documents, type correspondence, and manage data.
• Knowledge of records management practices record keeping technology to maintain an organized, up-to-date records system.
• Ability to work in accordance with established manuals, practices and procedures.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• Oral communication and interpersonal skills to interact with officers, and members of the public.
• Strong written communication skills to input accurate information, compose correspondence, proofread a variety of documents, compile reports, and summarize information.
• Ability to transcribe audiotapes with accuracy.
Problem Solving and Decision Making Skills
• Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to plans and prioritize administrative work on a daily basis.
• Demonstrated discretion, tact and diplomacy when responding to enquiries over the phone and counter.
