As the Senior Data & Quality Analyst, you will use data tools, quality standards, and analytical methods in the newly established Data and Quality Assurance Unit in the Property Tax Services Partnerships Branch in the Ministry of Finance, supporting Ontario's municipalities through accurate, reliable property tax data.

About the job

In this role, you will:
• Work on a team of data professionals focused on property tax and assessment data validation.
• Conduct analysis and verification of large-scale datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with legislation.
• Collaborate with internal and external partners to resolve data discrepancies and support municipal tax processes.
• Perform quality assurance processes to support ongoing data integrity and operational excellence.

Meet Your New Team
The Data and Quality Assurance Unit in the Property Tax Services Partnerships Branch is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of property tax data used by municipalities across the province, helping them deliver essential services to Ontarians.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge:

Bring your technical skills to support strong data science and analytics work.

• Strong foundation in data management, quantitative analysis, and quality assurance.• Knowledge of analytical methods, techniques, and tools used to support data-driven work.
• Familiarity with software packages and programming tools used for modelling, and data analysis

Communication, Consultation & Relationship Building

Use strong communication skills to build partnerships and support collaborative work.

• Ability to facilitate discussions, build agreement, and support coordinated decision-making.
• Skill in developing support for initiatives by bringing together input from key partners.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills to share information clearly with internal teams, municipalities, and external stakeholders.

Leadership, Research and Analytical Skills:

Apply analytical thinking to support effective data programs.

• Experience designing, developing, implementing, and improving data quality and assurance process.
• Strong research and analytical abilities.
• Ability to anticipate and respond to emerging issues in a practical, solution-focused way.
• Experience working with large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets using a range of tools.
• Knowledge of Ontario's property taxes.

Project Planning & Coordination

Support effective project work in a fast-paced environment.

• Experience leading and coordinating multiple projects at the same time, including guiding project teams and meeting key timelines.
