Strengthening housing policy through trusted data.We are seeking a Data Governance Analyst to support data and information management, analytics, and governance that inform housing policy and decision-making. This role supports data quality, consistency, and integrity, and contributes to evidence-based recommendations that support housing programs and initiatives
About the job
You will:
• Develop data visualizations, dashboards, and other data products to support analysis and reporting
• Support data governance, data standards, metadata management, privacy, data collection, and data-sharing practices
• Conduct research and analysis to inform policy and decision-making
• Prepare data models, reports, briefing documents, background papers, and analytical materials
• Support project planning, coordination, and collaboration
• Conduct risk assessments of datasets and support the review and approval of data and data products
• Coordinate and participate in consultations with ministry staff, other ministries, and public and private sector stakeholders related to data initiatives
What you bring to the team
Data and Analytics Expertise
Experience applying data and analytics to support informed decision-making.
• Support data governance, analytics, and data-sharing practices
• Design and analyze data to produce clear, reliable insights
• Prepare data products, models, and analytical reports
Research and Analytical Thinking
The ability to turn information into insight to support policy outcomes.
• Gather, research, synthesize, and analyze qualitative and quantitative data
• Assess the feasibility and potential impact of policy options using available data and identified best practices
• Identify data-related risks and issues and contribute to practical, innovative solutions
Project Management Skills:
An organized approach to supporting data-related initiatives.
• Apply project management practices to support planning and delivery
• Plan and deliver assigned data research and development projects, including developing project plans, establishing critical paths, and determining project methodology
• Track progress, identify issues, and support timely resolution
• Participate as a team member on ministry, inter-ministry, and inter-jurisdictional committees and project initiatives
Communication and Collaboration:
Clear communication and respectful collaboration across teams.
• Share information and provide updates, advice, and explanations related to data and analysis
• Prepare briefings, research reports, recommendations, and background materials
• Support consultations and explain data requirements and directives in a clear, practical way
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and partners
• Guide and support colleagues in using data tools and dashboards to build self-service analytics capability
Computer Skills:
Comfort using tools and systems to manage and share information.
• Use databases, applications, and analytical tools to access, analyze, and manage data across platforms
• Prepare technical and non-technical reports, planning documents, and operational materials
