About the job

As a WDHP Advisor, you play a key role in helping ministries respond to and resolve workplace discrimination and harassment concerns in fair, timely, and human-rights-based ways.

On any given day, work may include:
• providing confidential, impartial advice to employees, managers, HR partners, and senior leaders
• conducting intake and response interviews
• assessing complaints and recommending appropriate resolution strategies
• supporting workplace restoration after issues are resolved
• offering proactive, strategic advice to prevent future issues

WDHP Advisors work within one of three service portfolios and support designated client ministries.

What you bring to the team


Human rights and advisory expertise

• experience applying human rights, occupational health and safety, and respectful workplace legislation and policy
• understanding of human resources practices, collective agreements, and organizational dynamics
• ability to provide strategic, client-centred advice on sensitive and complex matters

Judgment, analysis, and organization

• strong judgment, discretion, and political acuity
• ability to assess complaints, risks, and evidence and recommend sound options
• research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• experience contributing to procedures, tools, guidelines, or program improvements

Communication and relationship-building

• strengths in conflict management, workplace restoration, and change management
• clear, empathetic communication with diverse audiences
• ability to deliver briefings, presentations, and training
• strong writing skills for reports, correspondence, and briefing materials
• comfort using HR systems and standard desktop tools
