As the Senior Manager, Reporting Systems Unit, you will hold a key leadership role supporting enterprise-­level financial oversight by guiding the collection, analysis, and consolidation of complex financial information across multiple program areas. This role combines strategic accountability with hands-­on oversight of financial reporting, ensuring that data is accurate, reliable, and aligned with government­wide accounting and reporting requirements. You will provide authoritative advice on consolidation methods and financial practices, oversee robust reporting and control frameworks, and contribute directly to senior-­level briefings and decision-­making, while also leading and supporting a team through effective people and performance management.

Over the coming years, this role will shape the evolution of financial information management by advancing analytical approaches, data models, and decision­-support tools that respond to emerging business and policy needs. With responsibility for planning system enhancements, guiding large­scale initiatives, and working closely with I&IT and external partners, the Senior Manager will influence how financial insights are developed, analyzed, and applied across the ministry. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting expertise, extensive experience in consolidation and reporting environments, and a demonstrated ability to lead complex change—translating data, trends, and risks into clear, actionable guidance that supports long-­term planning and organizational accountability.

Lead complex financial consolidations across multiple program areas, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant integration of financial information into the government reporting entity.
Oversee financial and quarterly reporting by managing end-­to­-end reporting cycles, validating data integrity, and delivering high­-quality financial outputs for senior leadership decision-­making.
Drive reporting systems and process transformation by modernizing tools, streamlining workflows, and partnering with I&IT to evolve reporting and information management capabilities.
Develop analytics, modelling, and data insights that move beyond static reporting toward more frequent, forward-­looking analysis to support strategic and operational planning.
Provide expert technical accounting advice on consolidation methodologies, financial standards, and policy interpretation, serving as a trusted advisor to executives and stakeholders.
Manage and mentor a high­-performing team through effective people leadership, including performance management, employee development, workforce planning, and inclusive engagement practices.
Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships with internal partners, external agencies, and other jurisdictions to ensure alignment, data consistency, and effective information sharing.
Lead projects and support strategic initiatives by applying sound project management, governance, and change­-management practices to complex, multi­year initiatives.

Meet Your New Team

The Accounting & Controllership Branch within the Corporate Services Division of the Ministry of Health provides province­wide leadership in financial stewardship, reporting integrity, and controllership practices. The Branch is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and leading complex accounting and consolidation activities that support ministry and government­wide decision­making. Through close collaboration with program areas, central agencies, and external partners, the Branch enables transparency, accountability, and sound fiscal management, while continuously modernizing financial systems, analytics, and processes to meet evolving business, policy, and reporting requirements.

What you bring to the team


Senior-­Level Accounting, Consolidation, and Financial Reporting Expertise

• Leads complex financial consolidation activities across multiple entities in accordance with public­sector accounting standards and government reporting requirements.
• Oversees the preparation, review, and validation of quarterly and annual financial reporting to ensure accuracy, completeness, and audit readiness.
• Provides authoritative technical accounting advice on consolidation methodology, financial controls, and policy interpretation to senior leaders.
• Ensures the integrity, reliability, and consistency of financial data used for enterprise­wide analysis and reporting.

Leadership in Financial Information Management, Analytics, and Modelling

• Directs the design and evolution of financial information management processes, systems, and decision­support tools.
• Oversees data modelling, trend analysis, and synthesis of complex financial and operational factors to support strategic and operational planning.
• Leads the transition from periodic reporting toward more responsive, insight­driven financial analysis aligned with business needs.
• Ensures analytical outputs clearly communicate risks, trends, and implications to executive and senior management audiences.

Strategic Systems, Modernization, and Project Leadership

• Leads large­scale initiatives to enhance financial reporting systems, processes, and governance frameworks.
• Partners with I&IT, external vendors, and internal stakeholders to plan, design, and implement system and process improvements.
• Applies project management and change­management principles to deliver complex, multi­year initiatives on time and within scope.
• Anticipates emerging requirements and plans system evolution to support future policy, reporting, and business demands.

People Leadership, Stakeholder Engagement, and Executive Advisory

• Builds and leads high­performing teams through effective performance management, coaching, talent development, and succession planning.
• Establishes strong working relationships with internal partners, external agencies, and other jurisdictions to support consistent data and reporting practices.
• Provides clear, evidence­based briefings and advice to executives on financial trends, issues, and risks affecting decision­making.
• Leads with professionalism, accountability, and inclusive leadership in a highly visible, high­impact management role.
