About the job

As Senior Analyst, you will:

• Conduct economic and labour market research and analysis.
• Design and implement labour market research projects using major Ontario/Canadian datasets.
• Create reports, briefings, visualizations and executive presentations on labour market trends and workforce development.
• Manage relationships and collaborate with Ontario ministries, the federal government, organizations and sectors.

What you bring to the team


Specialized knowledge and skills:

You have:

• Advanced knowledge in labour market economics, demographics, statistics, and research methods.
• An understanding of Ontario's labour market and workforce development trends across occupations, sectors and regions.
• Proficiency in statistical programming (e.g., Stata, Python, R) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Experience working with large datasets and APIs to retrieve data.

Research and analytical skills:

You have:

• Experience designing, coordinating and conducting complex research studies on current and emerging labour market issues and trends in Ontario.
• Skills in research, analysis, and statistical modelling on economic, demographic, and labour market issues.
• Expertise implementing analytical methodologies, indicators and statistical applications to inform recommendations, strategies and options to effectively respond to labour market issues.
• Experience collaborating with workforce development professionals to define workforce analytics needs and project requirements to enable evidence-based planning.

Communication, collaboration and project management skills:

You have:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills to translate complex labour market issues into clear reports, briefings, visualizations and executive presentations.
• Collaboration skills to build effective relationships and work well in teams.
• Experience participating in committees and project teams across various governments, organizations and sectors.
• Proven success in designing and leading research projects to ensure timelines and objectives are achieved.
