About the job

As part of the team, you will help deliver front-line customer service by providing accurate information and support for a range of government programs and services. Work is varied and customer-focused, with each interaction offering the opportunity to help members of the public navigate important services. In this role, you can expect to:

• provide quality front counter customer services in person by delivering timely and accurate information related to government programs, products, and services
• process applications and renewals
• collect payments and issue receipts
• resolve customer inquiries
• stay current on policies and procedures

Mandatory requirements

• You must possess oral French language skills at the advanced level. Your proficiency level will be confirmed before hire.

Customer Service Experience

You are someone who enjoys helping people and solving problems. You bring:

• a customer focus to provide optimum service, explain information clearly, resolve customer inquiries, and find solutions that result in a positive customer experience
• thinking and problem-solving skills to probe for information, assess situations, determine customer needs, and take appropriate action
• computer proficiency and ability to use Microsoft Office, database programs, and job-specific or specialized equipment
• communication skills to explain guidelines and procedures, respond to customer questions, and write clear, concise correspondence, while using judgement, tact, empathy and patience
• math skills to handle cash and process transactions using cash registers and point of sale machines
• a collaborative approach and the ability to work well with colleagues in a team environment
