Technology is essential to ensuring children and youth receive timely, effective mental health services. As a Senior Application Specialist, you will support and sustain the Children and Youths Mental Health business application, a critical system relied upon by internal teams and external health-care partners across the province. In this role, you will provide senior-level technical expertise to maintain application stability, security, and compliance with ministry standards, while adapting to evolving business and user needs. By collaborating with stakeholders, vendors, and project teams, you will help ensure the application continues to enable high-quality service delivery in children's mental health.

About the job

In this role, you will:

• Design, develop, troubleshoot and maintain Extract Transform and Load (ETL) processes.
• Participate to the data warehouse design process ensuring the data models can be efficiently loaded by ETL.
• Working closely with business and data architects, participate in preparation of detailed ETL technical specifications.
• Perform unit and integration ETL testing in order to ensure data quality and integrity.
• Develop technical documentation to facilitate future support.
• Monitor ETL processes in order to improve performance and error handling.

What you bring to the team


Technical Knowledge

You have:
• In-depth knowledge of Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience building mappings and workflows using Informatica Powercenter and/or Intelligent Data Management Cloud and/or other data processing tools.
• Strong experience working with relational databases on prem and on cloud.
• Knowledge/experience working with public clouds (AWS or Azure) services.
• Solid experience using scripting languages (such as Linux shell, Python).
• Data management domain knowledge such as data quality, master data management, data virtualization, and data de-identification.

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

You have:
• Analytical skills to assess the client needs and propose suitable technical solutions.
• Ability to analyze data and recommend improvements to related business processes.
• Ability to translate business requirements into data solutions.

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

You have:
• Demonstrated interpersonal, conflict resolution, team building and client relationship management skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and are able to interact with both technical and non-technical people.

Project Management Skills

You have:
• Familiarity with traditional waterfall and agile project management methodologies.
• Knowledge of the Incident and Change Management processes.
