Make an Impact

The Health Data Branch oversees a large mission critical operation to ensure the Ministry has access to the data it needs to support policy and decision making. The Health Data Branch within the Ministry of Health is seeking a Manager, Data Access and Release to support the branch in advancing the Ministry's key priorities for a stronger health data foundation.

In this role, you will lead a dynamic unit responsible for managing the ministry's outgoing health data and information including the end to end processes for data access and information requests, data transfers and the preparation of operational reports and statistical analyses for internal and external stakeholders. You will work closely with Ministry program areas, other OPS ministries, and a wide range of health sector partners, including hospitals, researchers, universities, provincial agencies and regulatory bodies, to ensure the timely, accurate and secure release of health data. As the Manager, Data Access & Release, you will:
  • Development, management and implementation of curated business intelligence tools and products.
  • Management and operation of the Ministry of Health and Ministry of Long-Term Care's vast data and information assets to meet the priorities and the legislative commitments.
  • Plan, manage and oversee all aspects of health data access and release activities.
  • Lead and direct the development of partnerships and stakeholder relationships with pan Canadian organizations to expand the breadth and depth of data, support timely access to information, and enhance data integrity.

She prides herself in leading high performing teams that deliver key initiatives for Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Long-Term Care.

  • Project Management Skills: Superior project management skills to coordinate, plan, and monitor large, multiple, and complex projects.
  • Health Research and Policy Knowledge: Knowledge of health services research and policy development methods and tools.
  • Health System Understanding: Solid understanding of health systems and information management.

Communication and Relationship Management Skills:

  • Collaborative Relationship Building: Demonstrated success fostering collaborative relationships with multiple, diverse internal and external clients and business partners.
  • Consultation and Negotiation: Demonstrated consultation and negotiation skills to coordinate linkages and build consensus between stakeholder groups with competing priorities.
  • Communication and Judgement: Superior communication and problem solving skills supported by strong judgement and political acuity.
