Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for shaping public policy and driving oversight excellence? The Metrolinx and Agencies Oversight Branch is seeking a forward-thinking and results-driven Policy Advisor to lead and support high-impact initiatives that strengthen the Ministry of Transportation's strategic oversight of its transportation agencies: Metrolinx, Owen Sound Transportation Company and the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission.

About the job

As a Policy Advisor, you will apply your knowledge of legislative and regulatory frameworks, government priorities, and transportation policy to support decision-making and ensure alignment with provincial objectives. Join a team of dedicated policy professionals committed to advancing agency accountability, performance, and innovation in Ontario's transportation sector.

In this role, you will:
• lead and coordinate research initiatives on transportation and agency oversight issues, conduct environmental scans and trend analyses to inform evidence-based policy and program development
• develop high-quality policy products, including research papers, briefing notes and strategic analysis documents to support senior decision-makers
• engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, facilitate consultations and information exchange to shape practical and politically informed options
• support effective corporate and governance oversight of provincial agencies to ensure alignment with ministry priorities and government objectives
• support cross-functional working groups and project teams, and apply strong organizational and project management skills to advance key initiatives
