Restricted Access - Job Opportunities

Current OPS Employees:

Effective August 12, 2021, VPN access will not be required to search and apply to restricted competitions. All OPS employees with an active OPS Office 365 account (OPS email address) can now search and apply to restricted competitions by accessing the Employee Career Portal.

It is recommended that OPS employees use OPS laptops to ensure the best user experience, data security, and user support.

If you are a current Regular employee on an approved leave of absence (paid or unpaid) or an employee on Notice of Layoff, please follow the instructions below to receive a unique access code.

Please review the list below to ensure that you belong to one of the eligible groups prior to requesting access to restricted competitions:

Individuals eligible to apply are:

Employees on WSIB status
Regular employees on Notice of Layoff
Former employees with entitlements for OPS restricted competitions
Former Ontario Internship Program (OIP) interns
Former AMAPCEO Co-ops who have fulfilled their final work term contract
Former Internationally Trained Engineers (ITE) who have completed the program and met licensing requirements
Commission Public Body (Agency) employees as outlined in the Public Service Act of Ontario, 2006 and public bodies with existing reciprocal staffing agreements
Other (Current OPS employees without active @Ontario.ca email address - On-Call, Community Rights Advisors, Ontario Parks staff, Corrections Institution Operations staff, MNRF Fire Crew, etc.)

Requesting Access to Restricted Competitions:

If you believe you are eligible and do not yet have an eligibility letter with a unique access code, please send an email with subject line ‘Request for Access to Restricted Competitions’ to Careers.Restricted@ontario.ca.

In your email to us, you must cc your manager and include the following paragraph and information:

“I am seeking permission to apply for restricted postings. If my manager, who is CC'd here, believes that I am not entitled, they can respond directly to you”

If you have identified a restricted competition that you wish to apply for, forward your application and eligibility letter to Careers.Restricted@ontario.ca. Your eligibility will be reviewed, and application submitted on your behalf.

Instructions

Select a date below to view all open and restricted job ads that were posted for that day. These files can be viewed for 14 days from the date of posting regardless of the job advertisement closing date. This means that a job could be posted and accepting applications for longer than the 14 days that the file can be viewed. You are advised to save a copy of the list of job postings if you wish to go back and refer to the job advertisement. To save a date-specific list of posted jobs, right click on the link and select "Save target as..." then specify a location on your computer to save the file. Be sure to check this page regularly.

Applications are accepted only by the method stated on the job advertisement.

Applications for OPS Open and Open Targeted competitions are accessible from the public facing OPS Careers web site. Open Targeted competitions can be located by entering the JOB ID # in the Job ID search field and click on the Search tool bar. Please access these job postings directly from the public site and follow the application instructions listed on the job ad to apply.
