Brief Overview Of Job Duties:
This position requires an enhanced-level screening check under the OPS Employment Screening Checks Policy which includes a criminal record check (CPIC), Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) check, Niche/RMS file check (Local Police Record check) and Credit (Equifax) check.
Details:
At your own expense ($150), the Conservation Officer Pre-Employment Physical Abilities Test involves the following components:
1. Agility Test
Six laps of the obstacle course (400m) to be completed within 3 min and 45 sec followed by a 5 min recovery period.
2. Strength Completion Tasks
i. Modified Sorensen Back Test – a back extensor test where a sustained position is held for 2 min.
ii. Marine Circuit – unload and carry over a 10m course the following items in choice of order. Time permitted is 5 min.
1-32.7 kg (72 lbs) marine motor
2-filled 25 L gas cans
1-27.3 kg (60 lbs) fish tote
iii. Carcass Drag/Carry – unload and drag or carry a 54.5 kg (120 lbs) simulated carcass 10m out and back and then reload into the back of a truck. Time permitted is 5 min.
iv. Snowmachine manoeuvre –manoeuvre a snowmachine until the back end has been turned 180?. Time permitted is 2 min.
3. m-PACK test
A 4800m walk carrying a 9.1 kg (20 lbs) backpack. Time permitted is 45 min.
