Purpose of Position :

To provide creative, consultative and advisory services to a broad range of OPS and OSS business partners on the design, development, structure, organization, and presentation of their e-business services and information on the MyOPS Enterprise Portal. To provide project guidance on a number of web design initiatives within MyOPS and OPS standards and best practices for portals.

Duties / Responsibilities :

1. Works with Creative Services Consultant, provides advice and customer service to MyOPS clients and stakeholders on the optimum design, structure and presentation of their services and web content on the MyOPS Enterprise Portal within the overall Ontario Shared Services and e-government service delivery and portal strategies. Recommends options and solutions to support best practices, standards and strategies for content design, presentation, layout and navigation and ensures compliance to legislative requirements (e.g. Human Rights Code, Ontarians with Disabilities Act) and OPS Values regarding diversity, workplace discrimination and harassment, etc.

2. Assists the Creative Services Consultant and works on concurrent projects for page development, content presentation, graphics, and other elements. Participates in all stages of projects ranging from design, content to presentation. Contributes to the development of Project Charters, Project Plans, and other key project management documentation; estimates work requests, resources, timelines and costs required for project completion, to inform delivery dates, pricing and priorities.

3. Provides Web design expertise including: developing conceptual materials, mock ups, presentations, etc. to demonstrate options and solutions to business owner to enable decision-making regarding site and page design. Works with Creative Services Consultant and provides production services to clients to support presentation and promotion of their services and web content based on client requirements and concept; sources and/or advises on visual panels, logos, brochures, marketing e-mail visuals, posters, promotional materials for events, etc. using best practices for reading and visual accessibility, plain language.

4. Works with Service Development Advisor in preparing project documentation within established project management methodology including: updating schedule of multiple concurrent work requests for MyOPS creative services to manage priorities and ensure achievement of delivery dates within existing resources and timelines; ensuring that cyclical web content services or needs are scheduled annually to project use and availability of resources.

5. Participates as a member of multi-disciplinary project teams to develop and implement MyOPS e-business services, infrastructure projects or tools; provides creative ideas and innovation to contribute to the development of new services or tools.

6. Develops and maintains a Remote Publisher network and structure (Author, Content QA and TQA) through the development and training of internal and external Remote Publishers for the MyOPS Enterprise Employee Portal, inculcating business and content ownership and accountability by internal and external business partners. Provides ongoing technical and operational support to Remote Publishers, Communities of Practice, business owners and corporate partners to address their changing business and web-publishing needs.

7. Delivers training to Remote Publishers on standards, best practices (including accessibility, plain language) and use of the Content Management tool and promotes accountability and adherence.

· knowledge of project management techniques to plan concurrent projects and to estimate work requests.

· the goals and directions of Ontario Shared Services, e-government service delivery and portal strategies and the corporate environment to increase web presence for OSS products and services and to ensure appropriate portal content and layout to satisfy the business and electronic service delivery requirements of Ontario Shared Services.
· applications solutions, collaboration tools and technical requirements for the design and conduct of complex and integrated web-based environment and to provide technical quality assurance for Webmasters/Publishers.
· to deliver training on Remote Publishers on standards, best practices and use of Content Management Tool and to plan, develop and deliver orientation and training on new services, tools or infrastructure.

Job requires ensuring client requirements for site and page design and content are consistent with OPS and MyOPS portal and e-government strategies, standards and best practices; in providing a range of specialized services to OPS and OSS business partners to ensure their design, presentation and content management needs are met for optimum presentation of their services and information on the MyOPS Enterprise Portal and in developing conceptual materials, mock ups, presentations, etc. to demonstrate options and solutions to business owner to enable decision-making regarding site and page design.
