Purpose of Position :

To perform general duties in relation to the preparation, service and cleanup of meals; to perform other related duties.

Duties / Responsibilities :

Performs general duties in relation to the preparation, service of, and clean up after meals and breaks by: - setting tables and preparing condiments and utensils.
- preparing vegetables.
- preparing beverages, tea, coffee, etc. - assisting the cooks with the serving of meals.
- clearing and cleaning tables.
- washing trays, plates, cups, utensils, etc.
- scrubbing and scouring pots and pans.
- scrubbing, washing and mopping floors, woodwork, tables and walls.
- providing for coffee break service as required and clearing area afterwards.
- removing garbage to disposal area.
- transporting food supplies from stores to kitchen area.
- receiving training and instructions as time permits, in the form of an apprenticeship in cooking, from the Food Manager.

Knowledge :

Previous work experience. Ability to understand and follow instructions, cleanliness; ability to lift or push heavy loads; good physical and mental health.
