Duties / Responsibilities :

• Assist in the delivery of science workshops and programs to children.
• Ensure a safe learning environment for children.
• Provide positive camp experiences to children and act as a good example to the
campers.
• Motivate and encourage children to participate and try new activities.
• Report supply needs and repairs to be done.
• Attend training, meetings, and assist in Camp set-up.
• Communicate with OSC staff, parents and the public.
• Assist in the management of Camp supplies.

Staffing and Licencing :

This position requires Vulnerable Services Sector (VSS) check under the OPS Employment Screening Check Policy, which includes a criminal record check (CPIC).

Knowledge :

• Broad knowledge of science principles.
• Working knowledge of the camp environment
• Experience interacting with children of different ages, learning styles/abilities & special needs
• First Aid certification
• General knowledge of health and safety issues.
• Awareness and sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population.

Skills :

• Excellent visitor and customer service skills.
• Experience working with children.
• Strong communication and visitor care/customer service skills
• Leadership and teamwork skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Adaptable and flexible to changes.
