Purpose of Position :

To maximize group private and public screening attendance and revenues for the OMNIMAX Theatre and group business for the Ontario Science Centre through effective sales solicitation targeted towards specific market segments.

Duties / Responsibilities :

1. Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing and working in conjunction with the RPT Sales Representative, OMNIMAX Theatre and Ontario Science Centre:
- develops and implements group marketing strategies and a direct sales plan, to be incorporated into the Ontario Science Centre and OMNIMAX Theatre's annual business plan, to ensure attendance targets are achieved;
- develops a critical path annually for marketing and group sales activities;
- develops promotional and group travel influencers, collateral sales materials including brochures, direct mail campaign components, school flyers/packages, etc.
- develops cross-promotional programs with partners in the private, i.e. Tourism industry, and public sectors to maximize theatre sales and OSC attendance levels;
- creates and implements strategies to optimize group and private screenings in the theatre in conjunction with the Associate Director, OMNIMAX Theatre (Theatre Manager) and the OSC Facility Rentals Coordinator through direct sales solicitation, direct mail and group presentations. Specifically group business in the areas of associations, seniors, as well as education markets will be pursued. Other responsibilities include working with the OSC Facility Bookings group to coordinate all details related to these events and to track guest satisfaction following an event;
- enhances the image and awareness of the OMNIMAX Theatre and the OSC by acting as a representative at community events;
- represents (or arranges representation of) the Ontario Science Centre at appropriate conventions, tradeshows and presentations;
- completes weekly sales call planners and sales activity reports for review by the Associate Director, Marketing and the OMNIMAX Theatre Manager;
- participates in group sales and hospitality related associations such as the Chamber of Commerce, tourism bureaus, Event Planners Associations, Sales and Marketing Executives;
- stays abreast of marketing trends as they relate to group sales.

2. Contributes sales and cross-promotional strategies for the OSC's and OMNIMAX Theatre's business plan:
- as a support function, responsible for understanding the results of the In-Theatre Survey and the Attitude and Awareness Survey as they pertain to the quality of the experience for OMNIMAX Theatre guests.

3. Other duties:
- special projects as they arise and as directed by the Associate Director, Marketing
- as assigned.

Knowledge :

Extensive direct sales experience with a proven track record in building business unit sales volume. Experience in conceptualizing and delivering creative and effective consumer and trade promotions including negotiations with co-promoters. Proven leadership and problem-solving experience, as well as sound analytical skills.

Good facility with numbers. Excellent presentation skills in a variety of communication modes (including print, photography, A/V and multi media) and communication skills (verbal and written). Ability to travel and work evenings and weekends.
