IT Systems Assistant :
Work Description: As an IT Systems Assistant, you will be supporting a team in identifying and analyzing client business IT needs. You may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:
• Support staff with researching and writing feasibility studies, including cost/benefit analyses, business requirements, business cases, etc.
• Provide support on system integration analysis or user acceptance testing (UAT).
• Investigate and prepare alternative options and recommend business solutions.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage daily assigned work.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements for IT Systems Assistant:
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
• You apply your written communication skills to document findings and prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports, data records, presentations, meeting minutes, etc.).
• You apply your consultation and verbal/active listening communication skills to understand clients' needs and requirements, and to share your knowledge with staff and/or clients.

Technical Skills and Knowledge:

Natural Heritage Information Technician :
Work Description: As a Natural Heritage Information Technician, you may have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:
• Work to help make Ontario's natural heritage information accessible to those involved in conservation.
• Assist Natural Heritage Information Conservation staff with life science fieldwork.
• Compile and enter natural heritage data into MNR databases.
• Assist with documentation and preparation of plant and insect specimens.
• Assist staff with data collection, trend analysis, and map preparation using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software.
• Create queries using SQL, and perform database tasks using Microsoft Access, and programming using VBScript, JAVA, and HTML.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements Natural Heritage Information Technician:

• You apply your customer service skills to assist clients by email and phone, assist in responding to complaints, and deal with public inquiries.
• You apply your written communication skills to document findings and prepare a variety of documents (e.g. reports, data records, etc.).

Technical Skills and Knowledge:
• You have knowledge of and an interest in Ontario's natural heritage.
• You apply your knowledge of and experience with working in a database environment (e.g. Microsoft Access, SQL) to create queries.
• You have knowledge and experience in programming using Visual Basic (VBScript), Hypertext Markup Language (HTML), Python, or JAVA.
• You apply your knowledge of and experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), such as ESRI ArcGIS suite, to conduct data and trend analysis (including spatial trend analysis), prepare simple maps, and track, compile, and evaluate information.

Work Description: As a Technical IT Assistant, you will be supporting staff with delivering desktop support to meet client information technology (IT) needs, and you will have the opportunity to work on some or all of the following activities:
• Provide technical support to clients by email, phone, in person, or using remote access.
• Assist with investigating, analyzing, and resolving all operational incidents and requests for change, determining root causes, and developing solutions that consider systems administration, technical, operational, and service problems.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage daily assigned work.

• Use content management systems and/or coding to refresh and update web sites.
• Support the development of electronic communications.
• Plan, organize, coordinate, and manage daily assigned work.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements for Web Development Assistant:
