Purpose of Position :

1.To provide assistance in identifying, analyzing and documenting business requirements to support application system development projects and
business initiatives.
2. To provide assistance in the development and maintenance of business architecture artefacts to support application system development projects and
business initiatives.
3. To provide assistance in information management implementation and support.

Duties / Responsibilities :

1.Business Requirements and Analysis:
-Assist in gathering business requirements for application system development projects and business initiatives through workshops, meetings, and
review of documents.
- Assist in gathering business requirements for information management implementation and support.
-Assist in analysis of the business requirements, identifying opportunities for reuse, and providing advice to management on viability and strategies for
automation.
- Under the guidance of an architect or manager, document the business requirements and analysis results in the form of narratives and models such
as use cases and process models.
- Under the guidance of an architect or manager, use automation tools such as Power Designer or Sparx Enterprise Architect, to document, analyze
and maintain the models, and generate reports.
2. Business Architecture Development and Maintenance:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of business architecture artifacts based on OPS standards.
- Assist in presenting business architectures to clients and project teams, and validating the architectures.
- Use automation tools to document, analyze and maintain the artefacts and generate reports.
3. Business Architecture Support:
- Under the guidance of an architect or manager, coordinate quality reviews of business architectures developed by projects, document quality review
results, and provide input to the architects and management for quality assessment.
Under the guidance of an architect or manager, support the cluster and corporate architecture governance processes.
4. Information Management (IM) Implementation and Services:
- Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of IM policies in the cluster.
- Support the development, maintenance and implementation of IM standards, processes, and best practices in areas such as Function-based
Business Classification Scheme (BCS), Records Classification Schemes/File Plans, and Records Series and Schedules through information technology
to manage information, security, privacy, publishing, and intellectual property, for the cluster?s client groups.
- Support IM services in metadata classification, data and record standards compliance, data acquisition, and security and privacy compliance for
structures and unstructured data.
- Assist in the development and delivery of IM training to clients.

Knowledge :

- Knowledge of business requirements gathering, analysis and documentation to assist in application system development, business initiatives, and
information management.
- Knowledge of business architectures and artifacts.
- Knowledge of business modelling, process modelling and business rules specifications.
- Knowledge of information management principles, processes and practice.
- General knowledge of business processes in areas such as finance, human resources, supply chain management and case management.
- General knowledge of information technologies such as servers, storage, networks, operating systems, database technologies, development tools
and programming languages.
- General knowledge of security technologies and techniques such as authentication, access control, encryption, firewalls, separation of duties,
assurance levels, security zones, etc.
- General knowledge of privacy protection.
- General knowledge of system development life cycle (SDLC), including planning, requirements, analysis, design, build, testing, implementation and
post-implementation activities.
- General knowledge of IT service management, such as incident management, change management, configuration management, and operations
management.
- General knowledge of project management, including scopes, costs, schedules, quality, resources, stakeholder management, communications, risks,
procurement and project integration.
- General knowledge of architecture principles, frameworks and practice.
- General knowledge of information architecture, application architecture and technology architecture, and how they are related to business
architecture.
- General knowledge of database design, data structures, data warehouses, business intelligence and related concepts and practices.
- General knowledge of the architecture governance process including the Corporate Architecture Core Team (ACT) process, Corporate Architecture
Review Board (ARB) process, and cluster architecture governance process.
- General knowledge of the OPS I&IT Directives, I&IT Policies (such as the Policy on I&IT Project Gateway Process), and I&IT Guidelines (such as the
Corporate Enterprise Architecture Review Requirements).
- General knowledge of the Government of Ontario Information Technology Standards (GO-ITS).

Skills :

- Ability to gather business requirements by conducting workshops and meetings, and reviewing documents to assist in application system
development, business initiatives, and information management.
Ability to analyze business requirements, and to support assessment of implications to projects for automation.
- Ability to document business requirements and analysis results in the form of narratives and models, such as use cases and process models.
- Ability to use automation tools such as Power Designer or Sparx Enterprise Architect, to document, analyse and maintain the models, and generate
reports.
- Ability to use requirements as input to assist in the development and maintenance of artefacts for business architecture based on OPS standards.
- Ability to interpret requirements and designs that are documented in the form of UML.
- Ability to interpret data requirements and designs in the form of entity-relationship models and data dictionaries.
- Ability to support the cluster architecture governance process, including maintenance of governance issues logs and providing status update to
architects and cluster governance management team.
- Ability to assist in the development and implementation of information management processes including information acquisition, collection and
management, including licensing, collection search, retention and disposal; IM tool deployment; metadata cataloguing; format conversion; data access
control and authorization to assist in information management assessment process.
- Ability to communicate information management requirements, processes and data standards to business and technical clients and project teams to
assist in architecture development process.
- Proficiency with using various office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio to develop documents and presentations.
- Proficiency with using project management information systems, such as Planview, shared folders, and collaboration tools to assist in system
development.
- Flexible, adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of roles in a team.
- Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
- Ability to work effectively with stakeholders.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Effective in making presentations.
- Good time management
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure and tight deadlines.

Freedom of Action :

- This position works within government and ministry directives, policies and guidelines for the use of information technology and development of
information technology solutions; and within established practices and procedures for computer systems design, development and management. Work
is performed with latitude in making decisions, under the supervision of the manager, in the application of methods, procedures and practices. Results
are reviewed by the manager for contributions to stated objectives. Situations requiring major modifications or development of new methods and
approaches are referred to the manager.
