Are you a high-performing educator with excellent curriculum, assessment and mathematics knowledge and understanding? The Ministry of Education's Curriculum and Assessment Policy Branch is looking for education professionals to lead curriculum and assessment policy development in support of Ontario's Renewed Math Strategy.
About the job
You will:
• provide educational expertise in designing, developing, and implementing policies and programs for curriculum and assessment portfolios, and the ongoing renewal of learning resources policies that will support and advance learning and instruction in the context of twenty-first century teaching and learning in Ontario
• lead the development, renewal, and implementation of projects that support twenty-first century teaching and learning approaches to strengthen and improve on-going quality student learning and achievement within the education system
• lead consultations with stakeholders in collaboration with branch, ministry, and inter-ministerial partners to inform policy development, renewal and implementation
• provide implementation support and guidance to school boards and other stakeholders in support of the Ministry of Education's Renewed Math Strategy
What you bring to the team
Education sector knowledge:
You have:
• knowledge of Ontario's education system and experience leading and implementing high-profile projects
• knowledge of strategic directions for curriculum and assessment policy, as it relates to mathematics, to lead policy development and research initiatives
• knowledge of and/or experience with standards and service-delivery, program development, and monitoring to implement education policy and programs
Interpersonal, communication and consultation skills:
• You have experience in managing education stakeholder relations as well as oral and written communication and consultation skills.
Policy, program development, analytical and problem solving skills:
You have:
• the ability to think strategically, analyze complex issues and develop policy options
• experience with the development and/or implementation of curriculum and assessment policies
• research and analytical skills to work with large-scale complex educational issues and develop strategic solutions
Project management, planning and organizational skills:
• You can develop highly complex and politically sensitive policies, programs, and resources.
• You have project management, planning and organizational skills to lead projects, design and implement work plans and manage all phases of work.
