About the job

As a Nurse, you will:

• conduct health assessments
• provide emergency intervention
• dispense medication
• liaise with other professionals and correctional staff

What you bring to the team


Mandatory Requirement

• you must have a current registration as a Registered Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario and in good standing
• you must be able to work within a flexible schedule to accommodate rotating shifts, evenings, weekends and holidays

Nursing Skills

• you have an understanding of nursing theories and practices
• you are able to interpret and apply relevant legislation
• you have effective assessment, reasoning, judgment and analytical skills
• you can identify and evaluate health care issues and determine appropriate treatment

Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

• you use your communication and counselling skills to deal effectively with staff and clients
• you are able to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team and work with a diverse client group
• you can use a computer to prepare reports and input and retrieve offender information
