About the job
The Ontario Heritage Trust requires a skilled property specialist to manage its portfolio of over 26 heritage sites across the province. This includes buildings and sites of natural heritage and archaeological importance. You will be responsible for: the strategic planning, organization, implementation and financial monitoring of property management activities; coordination of all leasing projects; negotiation of operating agreements, leases and service contracts; tenant and custodial liaison; ensuring effective operation and maintenance of information and tracking systems; coordinating capital maintenance and repair; providing guidance and direction to the property administrator; coordinating contract management functions and working in partnership with Trust staff to ensure the effective management of these properties and the preservation of their heritage values.
What you bring to the team
Mandatory requirements
sound knowledge of strategic property management, conservation and preservation techniques relating to historic buildings, short and long-term planning principles; knowledge of government policies, procedures and standards, maintenance requirements particularly with respect to historic buildings, leasing and contract administration; knowledge of property evaluation for lease and acquisition purposes; proven communication and financial management skills; ability to manage tenant relations and ensure value from contractors and suppliers; demonstrated teamwork and team management skills; entrepreneurial skills to maximize the property portfolio's contribution to the Trust's revenues; valid driver's licence.
