Are you looking for that next opportunity to showcase your information architecture and information management knowledge? If so, the Treasury Board Secretariat, Central Agencies I&IT Cluster would like you to join their team in the role of Information Analyst.

What can I expect to do in this role?

In this role, you will:
• Assist in identifying, analyzing and documenting information management requirements.
• Assist in development of taxonomies to classify and organize unstructured data and information
• Support application system development projects and business initiatives.
• Assist with information analysis, guidance, advice and recommendations on structured and unstructured electronic data.
• Identify, document and analyze information requirements in support of I&IT projects.
• Assist Business Architects in the design and maintenance of Business Functions Models in support of the development of function based classification to organize and manage unstructured information for Ministry clients

How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge:

• You have applied knowledge of information requirements gathering, analysis and documentation
• You have experience designing and developing information models and deliverables
• You have a sound knowledge of Information Management Strategy is and how it is developed
• You have experience analyzing requirements to develop an Information Management Strategy is and how it is developed
• You have knowledge of information management development and assessment processes based on Function Based information management methodologies as well as Information Management policies
• You have knowledge of information and Information Management lifecycle
• You have a general knowledge of records management
• You have a general knowledge of document and knowledge management concepts
• You have knowledge of information architecture models

Analytical and Organizational Skills:

• You demonstrate analytical and problem solving skills to resolve issues, identify options and make recommendations.
• You have the ability to analyze information and information management requirements, including database design, information structures and various types of models
• You have a sound knowledge of Function Based methodology to classify information.
• You have the ability to manage competing tasks efficiently, determining priorities effectively.
• You can demonstrate organizational skills to manage work-flow, to multi-task and to meet tight deadlines.
• You have time-management skills and you are able to work independently, with minimal supervision.

Communication and Presentation Skills:

• You can communicate information architecture requirements, processes and standards to business and technical clients.
• You are adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of roles in a team to collaborate and be a successful team player.
• You are effective in making presentations and in other forms of communication.

Technical Skills:

• You have computer proficiency using various office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio to develop project documents and presentations to assist in application system development process.
• You have experience using software case tools including SAP's Power Designer.

Project Management Knowledge and Skills:

• You have knowledge of project management including scopes, costs, schedules, quality, resources, stakeholder management, communications, risks, procurement and project integration to assist in application system development.
• You have proficiency with using project management information systems, such as the Project Portfolio Management (PPM) tool and collaboration tools to assist in application system development process.
